Maureen (Teasdale) Galey, 70, of Kansas City, MO passed away July 6, 2010 at KU Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am Saturday, July 10, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Church, 75th and Main St., Kansas City, MO followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the KU Medical Center Cancer Center, 2330 Shawnee Mission Pkwy., Westwood, KS 66205.
Maureen was born September 15, 1939 to William B. and Ada Maurine Teasdale. She was a graduate of Bishop Hogan High School and Fontbonne University and a member of Who’s Who of American Colleges and Universities. Maureen was a political consultant for many years and owned Galey-ONash Consulting. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Church, the Ladies of Charity, board member of the Irish Museum and the Redemptorist Center. She was an avid golfer who accomplished three Hole-In-Ones, two inside one month. She loved to fish and was always trying to catch “Walter”.
Maureen was preceded in death by her beloved parents. Survivors include her husband, Jon K. Galey; children, Bridget Burns, Tim Galey, Mimi Haymaker and husband Roger, Brian Teasdale Galey and wife Denise, Mark Galey and wife Amy; 12 grandchildren; siblings, Sr. Bernadette Marie Teasdale, SCL, Gov. Joseph P. Teasdale and wife Theresa, Ginny Keenan and husband Bill; nieces and nephews.
