Angelo C. Parato Obituary

Angelo Constantine Antonio Parato was born in Asti, Italy on August 6, 1930 and went to his Heavenly Father on April 27, 2019. Angelo, affectionately known as Aio to close friends and family, was the eldest son of Giovanni Michelangelo and Angela Parato. The Parato family lived in Italy until Angelo was age 8. Due to WWII the family moved to Asmara, Eritrea where they resided for several years. In 1945 he and his family made their way to the United States and settled in Oakland, CA. His family moved quite a bit over the years and eventually settled in St. Louis, MO. Angelo received his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson. He worked many years as an investment advisor and later as a vice president of a bank and trust company in St. Louis. He enrolled at Washington University to work on his master’s degree until he was drafted for the Korean War. He put his education on hold but never gave up on the idea. He graduated in 1994 from Webster University at the young age of 64 with a Master of Arts in International Business. After the Korean war, he met Elizabeth Unterreiner. They were married on October 5, 1963 and spent 55 years together. Angelo loved his time working and meeting people. He was truly an ambassador to all. He enjoyed his job but he also enjoyed his farm in Apple Creek, Missouri. Angelo was a wonderful son, father, and grandfather. Family and faith meant everything to him. Forever patient and kind to all, truly teaching others through Christ’s example. He lived the beatitude ‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.’ He is preceded in death by his parents Giovanni and Angela Parato. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Unterreiner) Parato. Daughters Angela Parato, Victoria (Parato) Massoumi and her husband, Dr. Kamran Massoumi, Joan Parato and her husband Eric Di Fate. Granddaughters Isabella and Daniela Massoumi. Siblings Nicoletta Parato, CJ Parato, and Tina Short. Visitation Thursday, May 2, from 4-8 p.m. at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood. Funeral Mass Friday, May 3, 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Pillar Catholic Church, 401 S. Lindbergh, 63131. Interment will be held Monday, May 6, 10:30 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
