Marie Herndon

Our beloved Mom, Marie, was born on October 10, 1933 to USAF Col. John and Florence Richardson. After WWII, she and her parents lived in Japan for a couple of years, as her dad was an engineer who helped rebuild post-war Japan. She later studied nursing at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where she met and married Hugh Herndon, III in 1958. She loved to travel internationally. She enjoyed her volunteer work at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. She also loved her pets. When our family moved to Long Island, NY, many years ago, she became an avid New York Rangers hockey fan. She is survived by 6 children: Hugh Herndon IV, Tim Herndon, Kelly Jones, Scooter Herndon, Mick Herndon, and Patrick Herndon. She was blessed with many grandchildren: Nate, Mary, Claire, Gillian, Dean Jr., Jennifer, Matt, Meghan, Molly, Sally, Stephen, Simon, Abby, and Mitchell. She has 6 great-grandchildren: Murphy, Avery, Tyler, Lily, Aurora, and Macy. Thank you for all you did for us, Mom. We love you and miss you. Until we meet again in eternity.... Visitation Thursday January 30th, 10am until time of Funeral Mass beginning at 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Valley Park. Interment Private.
