Stephen M. Wagner, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 in St. Louis, MO on August 15, 2019 surrounded by many members of his large extended family. He is preceded in death by his spouse Helen Wagner and his son Thomas Wagner. Survived by his children; Christine (Jack) Turek, Mark (Patti) Wagner, Helen “Mimi” (Jon) Holman, Andrew Wagner, Stephanie (Paul) Novak, Elizabeth (Alan) Feucht, James Wagner, and Joan (Joe) Hayden. He had 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Steve and Helen raised their family in Golden, CO and spent a portion of their retirement years in Green Cove Springs, FL, and St. Louis, MO, their hometown A graduate of St. Louis University and a former member of the United States Marine Corps, Steve married Helen Schoenwalder in May 1950 and later moved his family to Colorado where he enjoyed a successful career as a certified public accountant whose firm bearing his name audited the books of the City of Golden and City of Lakewood along with other local municipalities for many years. He served as a delegate to the Golden Home Rule Charter Convention adopted by the citizens of Golden in November, 1967. Steve taught evening upper level accounting courses at Regis College in Denver for over 15 years. He also served on the board of the Foothills Art Center and provided accounting services during the Center’s initial years. He coached many of the youth sports in which his children participated. Visitation 4:00pm-7:00pm Monday, August 19, at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., in Kirkwood, MO. Funeral Mass 10:00am on Tuesday, August 20, at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 676 W.
