Rosalee Monroe Obituary

Rosalee Melton Monroe , 69 was born at the home on January 3, 1948 to Everett and Alice Melton of Weir, KS. She went home to be with Jesus and her departed family and entered her final resting place at 3:45AM on the Sabbath, July 29, 2017. She was the youngest of 7 siblings. On October 22, 1966 she married her sweetheart Harold R. Monroe (also known to many as Randy Thomas). They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2016. God blessed their marriage with 4 children, James, Randy Jr., Tonya, and Treina. She was saved as a young girl and rededicated her life and service to the Lord in 1979 at Faith Tabernacle Church in Weir, KS and worked in several Christian schools. She had a degree in Cosmetology from Pittsburg State University, but her life’s journey led her to Texas in 1992 where she helped her husband with antique shows and refurnishing. She always stayed faithful to her true joy and happiness of living a committed life in the Lord, her family and her friends wherever she lived. She is survived by her husband Randy Monroe, SR. of Weir, KS, 4 siblings: Norvella (Carmen) Boccia of Pittsburg, KS, Arelva (Ted) Brynds of Cherokee, KS, James (Gertrude) Melton of Overland Park, KS, and April Faruggia of Stillwell, OK. Her children: James (Diane) Monroe, Athens, TX, Randy (Ruthy) of Weir, KS, (Will) Tonya Perryman of Rich Hill, MO, and (Joseph) Treina Sandifer of Big Sandy, TX. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 16 nieces and nephews, many cousins and great nieces and nephews.
