BERTHA MADELINE SCHRUM OF RICHWOODS, MISSOURI, WAS BORN ON JUNE 6, 1933, IN RICHWOODS MISSOURI. A DAUGHTER OF THE LATE JULIS ELLIS AND MYRTLE (WIDEMAN) MCMULLIN. BERTHA DEPARTED THIS LIFE ON OCTOBER 18, 2017, HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF 84 YEARS, 4 MONTHS AND 16 DAYS AT THE HILLCREST CARE CENTER IN DESOTO.
BERTHA WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO THE LATE CHESTER “CRICKET” HAYES ON OCTOBER 17, 1953, AND TO THE LATE HARVEY SCHRUM ON JUNE 27, 1970.
BERTHA IS SURVIVED BY ONE SON, TERRY HAYES AND FRIEND BELINDA OF RICHWOODS, MISSOURI, TWO GRANDCHILDREN, KIMBERLY ANN ROSE OF POTOSI, MISSOURI AND LAURA CHRISTINE HAYES OF JOHNS ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA, AND BY MANY OTHER RELATAVIES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS AND SPOUSES SHE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE GRANDSON, STEVEN MARSHALL HAYES, ONE SISTER, MILDRED DUNCAN AND THREE BROTHERS, CLEMENT, WAYNE AND DONALD LEE MCMULLIN.
BERTHA ATTENDED FIRST FREEWILL BAPTIST CHURCH IN RICHWOODS MISSOURI. SHE ENJOYED SPENDING TIME WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS, ESPECIALLY GOING OUT TO EAT. BERTHA ENJOYED A HOST OF HOBBIES WHICH INCLUDED SEWING, QUILTING, GENEOLOGY AND TRAVELING. SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HER.
VISITATION WAS HELD SUNDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2017 FROM 3:00 PM TO 9:00 PM AND ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2017 FROM 9:00 AM TO 11:00 AM AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD MONDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2017 AT 11:00 AM AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, WITH PASTOR WAYNE LEFTRIDGE OFFICIATING.
BURIAL AND FINAL PRAYERS WAS AT THE HORINE CEMETERY, RICHWOODS, MISSOURI. HONORING THE LIFE AND MEMORY OF BERTHA AND SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE SHAWN ARNOLD, JAKE GAU, BRENT TURNER, JEFF HAYES, LARRY HUBER AND TOM RODERIQUE.
