Erma Portell-Young of Farmington, Missouri was born on March 14, 1931 in Cadet, Missouri. A daughter of the late, Elsie Maude (Gamble) Portell and the late, Otto “Fide” Portell. Erma departed this life on August 22, 2017 at The Arbors in Farmington, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-six years, five months and eight days. Erma is survived by one daughter, Anita Parks and husband, Bill Faulds of St. Louis, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Twila Jarvis of Mineral Point, Missouri; Regina Schlueter of St. Louis, Missouri; one granddaughter, Dorothy Crepin of St. Louis, Missouri; also surviving are many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Erma was preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia Eye; one brother, Edgar Portell and one sister, Virginia Benson. Erma worked at Washington County Memorial Hospital and Parkland Hospital for many years and was also a school bus driver for Potosi. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed spending time with her dogs. Erma will be deeply missed by all. Visitation was held Friday, August 25, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. A Funeral Service was held Saturday August 26, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Jerry Compton officiating. Final prayers and burial took place in the Redbud Memorial Garden, Potosi, Missouri. Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
