Charles Beshears

Charles Max Beshears passed away Monday October 2, 2017 in Springfield, Missouri. Max was a former resident of Republic, Missouri. He was born to Joe and Helen Beshears on December 12, 1926 in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended high school in Rogersville, Missouri, graduating in 1944 and then served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. Max is the former owner of Beshears Refrigeration and then retired from Associated Wholesale Grocers. Max married Marie Chipwood on December 19, 2003. He was also a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed golf and woodworking. Max was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Helen, brothers James and Joe Jr., his first wife of 57 years Tillie, and grandsons Brian Howell and Brad Hanafin. Max is survived by his children Sue Howell and her husband Charlie, David Beshears and his wife Linda, Jimmy Beshears and his wife Thelma, Kathi Hanafin and her husband Dale, and Kirk Beshears. He has 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Services will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, 441 W. Battlefield Rd. on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 2:00 pm with visitation one-hour prior at 1:00 pm followed by a private family burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Republic, Missouri. The family suggests that all memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
