Joe Edwin Haney of Willard, Missouri passed away on Monday, October 09, 2017. He was born on May 11, 1924 to L.U. and Cora Haney in Greenwood, Missouri. After graduating from Camdenton High School Joe enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Pacific during WWII. Joe married Polly (Williams) Haney in 1943. They moved to Springfield, Missouri in the early 1950’s and then to Willard, Missouri a few years later. Joe worked in the printing department for the Springfield News & Leader for 37 years until his retirement in 1987. Joe and Polly were married for 72 years until Polly’s passing in 2016. In addition to his wife, Polly, Joe was preceded in death by his parents L.U. and Cora Haney; brothers Cecil Haney and Bert Haney; sisters Alyce Janssen and Lorene Reser and daughter in law Barbara Haney. Joe is survived by daughter, Paula Vinson and her husband Rick of Springfield, MO; son, Ken Haney and wife Shirley of Tomball, TX ; daughter, Terri Wagner of Surf City, NC; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October, 14, 2017 at Greenlawn South Funeral Home, Springfield, Missouri. Graveside services will follow at White Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 14, 2017 preceding the service. Joe was a dedicated Christian and a longtime member of Broadway United Methodist Church. He lived his life as a great example to all who knew him and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
