Diana Kathern Jansma, 69, of Worden, passed away on Tuesday Aug 27, in Billings. She was born on July 31, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Dean and Hattie Jansma.

In 1957, Diana and her family moved from Cincinnati to Billings because of Dean’s chief engineering job at KULR8. Diana graduated from West High in 1968. Later she graduated from EMC with a Bachelors of Art.

Diana’s life was defined by her love for her two children, Eric Dean and Katelyn Marie. She moved mountains to protect and provide for Eric and Katelyn. Diana made sure Katelyn went to every Missionettes group, every dance practice and dance recital. Diana gave Eric the opportunity to be in Royal Rangers where he participated in the Pinewood derby races with the help of his Grandpa Dean. Eric also had the chances to enjoy spelunking and camping through Royal Rangers. Diana made sure both Eric and Katelyn were brought up in the church to know and love Jesus Christ.

Eric gave Diana two handsome grandsons, Shawn Paul and Joshua David. Both Shawn and Joshua loved their Grammie very much! Diana would take Joshua to the Pumpkin Patch every fall. Diana made sure to send Christmas and Birthday presents every year to Shawn. Kate gave Diana a handsome grandson named John Allen Pierce. Johnny definitely made his Grammie laugh and smile!

Diana shared her love for the Beatles with her daughter Kate. Diana was able to meet the Beatles when she was young with a friend at a press conference. Kate was able to take her Mom to see Paul McCartney playing in Missoula in 2014. That is a memory that Kate will never forget!

Diana included her grandson Joshua in her hobby of Ham Radio, which Diana’s dad Dean loved to do. Diana enjoyed listening to her radio on summer nights when storms were brewing around Montana.

Diana is preceded in death by her both of her parents and aunt Anita Pansegrau. Diana is survived by her sister Debi (Steve) Stokke; son Eric and daughter Kate (Cody) Catlin; grandsons, Joshua, Shawn and John; and her uncle Marvin Pansegrau.

Memorial service will be held at 2 pm Friday, Sept. 6, at Smith West Chapel, located at 304 34th Street West.
