Mary Jane Mussetter

<p>Mary Jane Mussetter passed away on June 1, 2019. Mary was born to Edna and Samuel Yonce at Deaconess Hospital in Billings, MT on July 25, 1929. As a child, she lived with her parents on Sam’s homestead ranch on the Middle Fork of Fiddler Creek, where she rode her Shetland pony to the Bedford and Kirchman Schools to attend first and second grades. </p><p><br></p><p>The family then moved to Absarokee where Mary started 3rd grade and ultimately graduated from high school in 1947. On June 29, 1947, she married Chuck Mussetter and moved back to Fiddler Creek where she and Chuck ranched for nearly 65 years. For 37 of those years, Mary drove bus for the Fishtail and Absarokee schools. </p><p><br></p><p>Mary and Chuck were avid Absarokee football and basketball fans, driving the team bus for many years and attending most other games when not driving the bus. She and Chuck have five children: Barbara (Will), Donald (Marilyn), Robert (Leslie), David (Laurie) and Michael (Laura), 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. In Fall 2011, Mary and Chuck moved to Absarokee to be closer to help after Mary’s shoulder surgery, and Mary remained there after Chuck’s death in 2012. Mary lived at Shipps Assisted Living for two years and Canyon Creek Memory Care for a month preceding her death. </p><p><br></p><p>A memorial service will be held at the Absarokee Congregational Church at 11:00 a.m. on July 1.</p>
