Paddy Alan Gwin Obituary

Paddy Gwin passed away May 28th, 2019 in Billings, MT. Paddy was 84 years old and battled pancreatic cancer for over 2 years. "Well, I'm done" was a phrase he often said when he was ready to end a conversation, now it seems those are his final words.

He grew up in several small towns in Montana. He has three sisters and one brother. He served in the US Army stationed in France. Paddy married Marianne Hankins in1959 and they have been together for 60 years. They have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Paddy worked for Modern Machinery for 40 years as a mechanic.

He set a great example for what a good work ethic looks like. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, hiking, tinkering in the garage, gold panning, making wood pens and he was always there to lend a helping hand. He was active in the community with Lions Club, Yellowstone River Parks Association and Gold Diggers Club.

Paddy and Marianne traveled to Alaska, Europe, California, Ireland and Canada. We all enjoyed meeting at the cabin on Canyon Ferry Lake. Going boating, fishing, hiking to the penny tree and playing games. But we never asked him to swim because he always said he couldn't float. He will be terribly missed by family and friends, the world is a better place because he was in it. Funeral service 1 p.m. Monday, June 3, at Smith Downtown Chapel, located at 925 South 27th Street. Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation one hour prior to service. Luncheon provided after service. https://smithfuneralchapels.com
