Edna Mae Smith Obituary

Edna Mae Smith, 103, of Cody, Wyoming passed away at her home, surrounded by family on April 18, 2018. Edna was born February 15, 1915 in Columbus, Montana to Earl and Ada Thiel. She grew up in the Red Lodge area and married Glen Smith on July 10, 1932. Together they raised seven children and settled in Clark, Wyoming. For 18 years she cooked lunch at the school in Clark.

In her retirement she enjoyed cooking and sewing but mostly she loved her family. She found immense joy in each one of her grandchildren and always had a smile and twinkle in her eye. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ada Thiel, her husband Glen Smith, six siblings, and her grandson Tom Wipplinger. She is survived by her seven children: Eileen Smith of Pavillion, WY, Bill (Carole) Smith of Thermopolis, WY, Barbara (Russell) Reid of Cody, WY, Chuck Smith of Billings, MT, Diane Fike of Pavillion WY, Jim (Mimi) Smith of Sheridan, WY, Rick (Lynn) Smith of Douglas, AZ. 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren.

Services will be at 2pm on Wednesday, April 25th at the Smith-Olcott Funeral Home in Red Lodge, MT. Burial will be in the Red Lodge Cemetery.
