Elsie (nee Ackerman) Wilson passed away Saturday June 10, 2017 at 80 years of age while a resident at Cederwood Villa. She was born in Vibank, Saskatchewan on May 25th 1937. She was the youngest girl in a family of nine children.
The Ackermans moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, where Elsie attended school at Sacred Heart Academy. While in school, Elsie participated in several school plays and won a best actress award. She was voted Saskatchewan’s most promising young actress. Upon graduation she became a lab tech at a local hospital. Elsie and William (Bill) Wilson married November 15, 1958. They had two children, Jeff and Lorene. Elsie was able to be a stay at home with her children. The family enjoyed spending their summers at B-Say-Tah Village on Echo Lake where she enjoyed spending time on the beach, boating and socializing with her beach family.
In 1976 Elsie and Bill moved their family from the plains of Saskatchewan to the mountains of Red Lodge, Montana. Elsie loved drama and continued to act in several local theater productions. She and her husband owned the Lupine Inn for many years. Elsie worked at the Lupine on and off over the years. She enjoyed playing bridge, lunching with friends and was an active member at the Red Lodge Community Church. In later years Elsie and Bill enjoyed spending their winters in Hawaii and Rockport, Texas.
Elsie is survived by her husband Bill, her brother Manuel (Marilyn) Ackerman, sister Freda Ellison and her brother-in-law George(Cathy) Wilson . She is survived by her son Jeff and his wife Mary Wilson and their children Hannah (Ben) Tougas, Jessica Wilson, and Zach (Maddie) Wilson; daughter Lorene and her husband Rick Kammerer and their children Courtney Kammerer and Brittney Kammerer. Great-grandchildren: Ryan, Kallie, Katie, Courtney, Ailey and Avalyn.
The family wishes to thank Dr Brad Fouts and the staff of Mountain View Clinic for the excellent care they provided Elsie. Also, all the staff at Cedarwood Villa for the care they gave Elsie and the friendship they all extended to Bill over the last two months. A very special thank you to Chris Bertolino for all the care and assistance she has given the family over the past several years.
A memorial service will be held at the Red Lodge Community Church, June 22, at 11 A.M. Luncheon to follow the service.
