Terrence Paul Temple was born on September 20, 1941 to Virginia June (Brooks) and Paul Edward Temple in Casper, Wyoming. He received his elementary and high school education in the Lewellen, Nebraska school system. Terry married Lillian Ann Noetzelmann on July 7, 1963. To this union 3 sons were born: Russell Paul, Michael Edward and Ronald Eugene. Terry passed away April 5, 2020, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 78. Terry was a true cowboy at heart, spending many of his younger years rodeoing across the upper Midwest. Terry began his career with the Nebraska Brand Committee in August 1963 as a brand inspector in McCook, Nebraska, and later in June 1975 moved to Valentine, Nebraska as a Criminal Investigator. He retired in December of 1999, after 36 years of service. Terry was a proud member of the Valentine Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years and also was a member of the Cherry County Sheriff’s Office Reserves. His boys and his grandchildren were the light of his life, following them to countless events. He spent many nice days with Lillian riding their bikes and enjoying the outdoors. Terry always had a pocket full of candy for any child he would come across. Terry never knew a stranger and was endlessly trying to think of something he could do to bring a smile to their face. His list of friends, both near and far, was never-ending. Preceding him in death were his parents Paul and Virginia Temple, as well as his brother Michael Harvey. Terry is survived by his loving wife of almost 57 years, Lillian, and his children: Russ (Dee) of Colome, SD, Mike (Selda) of North Platte, NE, and Ron (Becky) of Norfolk, NE. Surviving him also were 7 loving grandchildren: Paul Temple, Kyle Temple, Allison Temple, Jim (Jen) Hagen, Bob Hagen, Roni (Brian) Erickson, David (Montana) Ely, as well as 5 great grandchildren. Terry left many memories with sisters: Mary (Mark) Kinney of North Platte, Doris Wolford of Ann Arbor, MI, and Deloris Ward of Brady, NE. Surviving nephews are Doug (Sara) Kinney, Dan (Amanda) Kinney, and Joel (Ivette) Kinney. Terry’s living cousins include Pat Albee, Kay Tapp, and Beulah Brooks. His brother-in-law, Arnie West, will miss him greatly. Burial will be at a later time at Ash Hollow Cemetery in Lewellen, Nebraska. Holmes Funeral Home of Valentine, Nebraska has been entrusted with the arrangements.
