James O'Donnell Obituary

James (Jim) F. O’Donnell, 62, passed away unexpectedly of a cardiac event on Monday, September 18, 2017. While his recent residence was in Ellenton, Florida, and previously Suffield, Connecticut, he passed at his summer home in South Hampton, New Hampshire - a place that had tremendous emotional and spiritual value to him. Jim was born in Holderness, New Hampshire, son of the late Francis “Sonny” O’Donnell and Concetta “Connie” Marchi O’Donnell, on March 13, 1955. He attended local schools in Plymouth and earned his Associates Degree from Plymouth State College. He had a long career with various specialties in the financial services industry. Prior to his recent early retirement, he was the Vice President of Cash Management Services with United Bank in Enfield, Connecticut. He was involved in many different volunteer organizations including a board member position with Allied Community Services for many years. Natural creative abilities proved Jim to be a very admired designer, gardener, and cook. He was highly energetic with an enthusiastic smile that effected all who were fortunate enough to know him. He had a passion for music, with a special adoration for the Carpenters. Jim is survived by his spouse and best friend, Steven W. Patch; two children and their spouses, Christine M. and John Morris, Ryan and Cynthia O’Donnell; two brothers and their spouses, Michael and Linda O’Donnell, Thomas and Luz O’Donnell; four granddaughters he adored, Emily and Courtney Morris, Hailey and Kaitlyn O’Donnell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He is also survived by former spouse, great friend, and mother to his children, Catherine Boisvert O’Donnell; stepmother Barbara O’Donnell; parents-in-law Linda and James Hopkins, George and Elizabeth Patch; and numerous step and in-law sisters, brothers, and their families. Calling hours will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22nd, at the Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St., Plymouth, NH, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Riverside Cemetery, 62 Fairgrounds Road, Plymouth. The Rev. David Kneeland, pastor of St. Joseph’s Church, in Lincoln, NH., will officiate. The family requests memorial donations be made in Jim’s memory to the American Red Cross to support those whose lives have been severely impacted by the recent hurricanes. www.redcross.org/donate/hurricane-irma
