MEREDITH -- We lost a true original on Thursday, September 28, 2017 with the sudden passing of Robert Henry Fournier due to heart failure. Dad was born to Henry and Florence (McInnis) Fournier on January 31, 1933 in North Woodstock, NH. He moved to Meredith at a young age and became a lifelong resident. He graduated from Meredith High School as a member of the class of 1951. After graduating, Dad enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for several years, including service in Korea during the Korean war. He was honorably discharged in September 1959.
He married Pauline Louise Juneau in September 1956. They would spend 60 years together - raising a family and actively participating and volunteering in so many aspects of their local community. For many years, Dad was a member of the Meredith Volunteer Fire Department and The American Legion Post 33. He owned and operated his own refuse disposal company for many years and retired after working several years for the Town of Meredith in both the Water and Highway Departments. Dad is survived by sisters Mary Lee Harvey and Natalie Lord; his six children Timothy Fournier, Thomas Fournier, Tam Ouellette, Terry Andrews, Tina Fournier, and Toni Fournier, his grandson Jason Fournier and his great granddaughter Dahlia Burrows Fournier.
The Fournier children would like to express a very special thank you to the Lakes Region Visiting Nurse Association for all the wonderful care and compassion given to Dad. Your visits and support meant so much to him!
Please join the family at the Waukewan Golf Club - 166 Waukewan Road Center Harbor NH - Sunday October 22nd from 3 pm to 5pm where we will remember and celebrate Dad.
In lieu of flowers…. change the oil in your car, check the pressure in your tires, drive slow, and spend your money wisely. He would have wanted it that way!
