Obituary
Shirley Ross Damarell, 88, of Moultonborough, died on March 14, 2017 at Forestview Manor, in Meredith, after several years battling Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in Montreal, Quebec on Feb.13, 1929, she was the daughter of Harry James and Mary Somerville (McClelland) Richardson. She had a career as an Executive Secretary before marrying Robert(Bob) Damarell in Toronto, Ontario on Sept. 22, 1956. Following moves to Montreal and Vancouver, British Columbia, Shirley and Bob emigrated to the US in 1963, living in Ridgewood, New Jersey and Overland Park, Kansas before settling in Moultonborough after Bob’s retirement. She enjoyed travelling and visiting family in Canada, Scotland and Australia. At home Shirley enjoyed her family, gardening and doing needlework. She is survived by her husband Bob after 60 years of marriage, her daughter Heather Tiddes and her husband James of Pembroke, NH, grandchildren Kyle Tiddes of Pembroke, NH and Lindsay Tiddes of Pembroke, NH, Sister-in-law Sue Richardson and nieces in Orange, California and cousins in Canada. She was predeceased by her brother Ronald Bertram Richardson of Orange, California. Shirley’s family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Forestview Manor for the compassionate care they afforded Shirley during the past four years. At Shirley’s request, there will be no calling hours or services. Donations may be made in Shirley’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association 166 South River Road #210, Bedford, N.H. 03110.
