Anna Karpowicz Werner, age 97, died peacefully on August 2, 2014 at CareOne in Hamilton after being ill for many months. Wife of the late Frank C. Werner, they resided in Hamilton for 70 years. She was born in Mt. Carmel, PA. She attended Immaculate Conception High School in Trenton. Daughter of the late Thomas and Francis (Lontkowska) Karpowicz and sister of the late Leon, Thomas, Vincent, and Stanley (“Pat Murphy”) Karpowicz; Frances (Karpowicz) Toma; Edward Karr; John and Raymond Karpovage; and Claire (Karpovage) Olszak.

She is survived by her 2 sons Jim Werner (Jan Bisco-Werner) in Bordentown, NJ and Frank T. Werner (Karla) in Clayton, NC; 3 grandchildren Leah Werner, Eric Werner (Andrea Erdmann), and Eli Bisco-Werner; and 1 great granddaughter Anna Marcella Werner Erdmann. She was nanny and long-time family friend to Bill, Jim, John, and Henry Hipple.

During World War II she riveted the tails of planes for the Navy at the General Motors plant in Trenton. She also worked at the Atlantic Products Corp sewing luggage. She retired from Heinemann Electric Company where she was a Quality Control Inspector.

Ann loved to dance, read, play bingo, and garden. She was an RSVP volunteer and volunteered for St. Francis Hospital for many years. Mrs. Werner was a long-time member of St. Raphael Church and the Elderberries. She walked 50 miles with the Hamilton Hospital 50+ Club Walkers.

She was under the long term care of Dr. Thirugnanam and her dedicated staff. For the last 9 months she was cared for by the friendly, caring staff of CareOne in Hamilton. She will be missed by those who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday August 8th 2014 11:00 am at St. Raphael Holy Angels Parish 3500 South Broad Street Hamilton, NJ 08610 .Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 ~ 8:00pm and on Friday morning 9:00 ~10:00 am at the Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, NJ. Interment will be follow at Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.
