Anthony Barbalace Bordentown, New Jersey Obituary

Anthony Barbalace

Dateline Bordentown Anthony M. Barbalace Sr. passed away on Thursday March 26th 2015 at Helene Fuld Medical center with his loving family at his bedside. Born in Trenton, he grew up in the White horse section of Hamilton before moving to Bordentown. Anthony enlisted in The United States Army serving with the 103rd Infantry during WWII. He was employed as a Corrections Officer for The NJ Department of Correction, retiring in 1992 after 15 years of dedicated service. He then decided at the age of 67 to work in the arbitration department for NADE located in Mansfield retiring after 12 years. But one of the most thrilling parts of Anthony’s life was when he became part owner of the White Hill Mansion Restaurant in Fieldsboro. A proud parishioner of St. Mary’s church, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus council #570 and spent many hours volunteering to cook dinner for the sisters of Poor Clare. He was also a member of the Bordentown Elks 2085; serving as their Club Steward for many years. But his greatest joy was spending his life surrounded by his family and friends. He was devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, caring friend, and will be missed by many. Son of the late Joseph and Maria Barbalace, he is predeceased by his grandson, Michael Arthur Barbalace, and his 7 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Rita M. (Casey) Barbalace, his daughter, Sherri Marie, his son and daughter-in-law, Anthony M Jr. and Lisa Barbalace, his grandchildren, Shannon and (Jason) Pracko, Sean Mahoney, Krista and (Travis) Stewart, A.J. Barbalace, Cory Mahoney, his great grandchildren, Aurora Rochford-Mahoney, Michael Collins, Eli Stewart, Mia Pracko, Matthew Stewart and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday April 1st 2015 11:00 am at St. Mary’s RC Church 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 ~ 9:00 pm with Elks services at 6:15pm & Knights of Columbus Services at 8:30pm, and Wednesday morning from 9:30 ~ 10:30am at the Bordentown Home for Funerals 40 Crosswicks St. Bordentown.
