Arnold R Journeay Obituary

Arnold Journeay, 90 died on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly New Jersey after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.


Born in Sag Harbor Long Island, Arnold Journeay moved to Totenville,Staten Island as a child and lived there until he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1945. He served for 4 years and was then reactivated for an additional 2 years during the Korean War. He achieved the rank of Sergeant.

Upon his return Arnold married Connie (Cichon), and raised 3 boys Thomas, Stephen, and Arnold Jr. He resumed working for Proctor and Gamble at Port Ivory, Staten Island and was employed there until his retirement in 1987. Arnold was an active member of the American Legion and a Commander of the Henry and Stanley Cichon Post.

After retiring Arnold Journeay moved to the Homestead at Mansfield in Columbus NJ and has lived there with his loving wife whom he has been married to for 66 years. Together they traveled across the U.S.


Arnold Journeay is survived by his wife Connie, sons Thomas and Arnold Jr., 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother Allen and sister JoAnn. He is preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Johanna, and his son Stephen.


A Celebration of Arnold’s life will be held on Wednesday January 3rd 2018 11:00 am at the Bordentown Home for Funerals 40 Crosswicks St. Bordentown. Calling hours will be held Wednesday morning 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown NJ.
