<p>Bordentown - Long time Bordentown resident Barbara Grace (McEwan) Sylvester, 74, passed away suddenly on July 15, 2016, at St. Francis Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Born in Kearny, New Jersey in 1941, Barbara graduated from St. Stephen's Catholic High School. Afterward, Barbara married Mel Sylvester of Kearny, NJ and spent many years raising their four children in Bordentown.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>In 2010, Barbara retired from a career with the St. Francis of Assisi Community of Beach Haven, New Jersey, where she served as Parish Secretary. She was a Secular Franciscan, had many loving friends there, and felt a strong bond with God. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Barbara loved to spend time with her loving family and her greatest joy were her grandchildren Christopher, Audrey and Ava Sylvester, all of whom brought a smile to her face that would light up a room.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Barbara is predeceased by her parents Rosina Boswell Connelly Condit and husband Ted "Dorie" Condit, and her father James McEwan. Barbara is survived by her sister Carol Ann (McEwan) Martin, her brother James and his wife Patricia McEwan of Bordentown, her children Michael (Lisa) Sylvester of Browns Mills, David (Katherine) Sylvester of Cambridge, United Kingdom, Marguerite (Steven Hellwich and children Mikayla and Spencer Hellwich), of Savannah, Georgia, and Daniel Sylvester of Bordentown; her aunt Anne (Connelly) Ward of Cranbury, New Jersey as well as her grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
