Bea was overjoyed last year when she was blessed by the birth of her great granddaughter Brooke Caroline Patterson who was the sunshine of her life. Bea was a stay at home mom for 19 years and then had an opportunity to work at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck New Jersey as “The TV Lady”. That was a job that suited her perfectly as she loved talking to and cheering up the patients she encountered. She also worked for Nade Auto Auction before retiring. Bea and Arlene moved to Homestead at Mansfield and found that the peaceful country life perfect for them. They became involved in many of the great activities Homestead offered. Bea was an active canasta player and several years ago she started playing Pinochle again which she had learned many years prior when her father first taught her how to play. Her favorite hobby was singing. She was quite a gifted singer and sang in the Homestead Follies where she received many standing ovations. She and Arlene also loved to go on vacation. Over the years they visited Europe, Alaska and enjoyed several cruises with both family and friends. Her favorite place to visit was Jacksonville, Florida to enjoy her children and grandchildren. She had many wonderful friends and neighbors that she and Arlene loved to socialize with and to share her wonderfully cooked meals. Bea loved her family and she loved her life. She was a caring, compassionate woman, and even during her illness that took much of her speech away, she would hum tunes which made her happy. Bea was blessed with 90 years on this Earth and will be greatly and deeply missed by her family and all that knew her. You were the sunshine of our life.
