<p>Dateline Chesterfield</p><p><br></p><p>Betty Lou Torpila (Rice) passed away peacefully on April 4th at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Hamilton. Born in Trenton NJ, she was a long resident of the Bordentown-Chesterfield community. She was a retiree of both Westinghouse and The State of NJ labor &amp; Industry. She was an active parishioner of St. Mary’s Church as well as an active member in the Golden Years luncheon Club of Bordentown. </p><p><br></p><p>Betty Lou’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, she was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother a great-grand mother and will be missed by many.</p><p><br></p><p>The daughter of the late William and Nellie Taylor, she is predeceased by two wonderful husbands, James C. Rice Sr. of 41 years and Frank G. Torpila of 19 years, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen &amp; Albert Gayzik, Ethel &amp; Carlin Lovejoy, Rosemary Hosey, her brother, William Taylor,</p><p><br></p><p> she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jay &amp; Alison Rice, her step-sons and step-daughters-in-law, Frank T. &amp; Angela Torpila, John &amp; Adelaide Torpila, grand children, Tamara Glidewell, Timothy and Norma Rice, Erica Rice, Serena and Kurt Falzini, Vanessa and Ryan Bloor, her great-grandchildren, Brie, Melanie, Kurt Jr., her sister, Lila Herdman, her sisters-in-law, Mary Taylor and Iris Hill, brother-in-law Charles Hosey many nieces, nephews, friends and her loyal companion Daisy Mae.</p><p><br></p><p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday April 10th 10am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 pm to 8pm with services at 7:30pm and on Wednesday 8:30 to 9:30am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Emleys Hill Cemetery, Cream Ridge. </p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty Lou’s name to either St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, NJ, 08505, or to a charity of choice.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements are under the direct care and supervision of Robert L.
