I am sorry to say that I just found out about Curt's passing in trying to contact him at Drexel University and am deeply saddened by the news. Curt and I worked together at Allegheny Health, later Tenet Health in Center City Philadelphia and became friends. He had a love of family, friends and life in general like few people I know. My thoughts and prayers to his family, friends and those he served with. He has passed way too soon and he will be deeply missed.

I have been thinking of Curt lately. I sure do miss him, as so many others do. Not too long ago, my brother John (who was in the Navy during the time Curt and I were in Guam on the Hunley), brought a video over of his time on board his ship - a destroyer. Turn out John's ship was coming into Guam for refueling, and word went out so I could meet John at his ship. We ended up for a brief time at what was called "Andy's beach" (interesting as don't think it was named for Curt - as we called him Andy... but I digress. Anyway the point is my brother had his video camera and he, Curt, and I hung out on the beach, and in that video there is Curt and me, shirts off, sitting in the sun. Curt and I were good friends - he made a difference for me personally when we served on the Hunley. Then he was the one encouraging me to go to the Ships reunions where we reconnected. Curt was taken from us way too soon. What a loving, fun guy. Great husband and father. True friend. Miss you Curt.

I just found out about the passing of Curt. We met in high school and were good friends in the 1970s. Curt came to my wedding to Pattye and took some fabulous photos. He loved life and being with his friends and family. I fondly remember driving around with him in his 1968 Pontiac GTO, complete with four-track tape. I'd like to say hello to Curt's siblings, who I knew and liked. Pattye and I will keep you all in our good thoughts.--Tom Stringer

Curt loved his family and loved life. He always stayed true to himself. Curt was a man everyone respected, yet he knew how to have fun. Our family was honored, and deeply touched, to have Curt play his bagpipes at Mom's funeral. Rest in peace, Curt, and thank you. Kathy, you are in our prayers.
