Betty Ann attended and graduated from the Bordentown school system. She was employed with The Division of Motor Vehicle as the Assistant Chief of Personnel; she retired in 1991 after 37 years of dedicated service. During her lifetime, Betty Ann had so selflessly given so much of herself to Bordentown. She was a proud parishioner of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Bordentown Historical Society, the Bordentown Garden club, the Bordentown Downtown Association. She will be best remembered for being a vital member of the Bordentown Veterans’ Memorial Committee. While on this committee she spent many hours researching and certifying names to be inscribed on the Memorial Wall and for them to be carved into the stone panel, she also took on the onerous task of coordinating the engraving and installation of all the commemorative pavers, she developed a grid chart for the location of each paver which assisted families and loved ones in locating their paver. For fourteen (14) years, Betty Ann worked on the project until its completion. She will be greatly missed by many. She was the daughter of the late Edward R. and Elizabeth V. Burke; she is predeceased by her brother, Dr. Edward R. Burke Jr., and her sister-in-law, Peggy Burke. She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Sheila and Donald Giberson, Anita and Leonard Ricasoli, Maida L. Burke, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday September 14th 11am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown with Rev. Michael J. Burns Officiating. Calling hours will be held on Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:30am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery Bordentown.
