Francis Joseph Glancey

BORDENTOWN Francis Joseph GLANCEY, 86, a lifetime resident of the Bordentown area, passed away peacefully on the first of May 2012. Born on the 21st of April 1926 to James and Elizabeth Glancey, he spent most of his life at Bernarty, the beloved house on the hill that his father and uncle built during the depression. He served as a Marine in WW2 and was wounded as a flame thrower operator during the Battle of Okinawa, after which he was honorably discharged with a purple heart. Upon his return and following his studies in electrical engineering at Catholic University, he went on to work for the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation. He retired in 1991. He is survived by his wife Margaret Glancey (née Grehan) of 54 years; his son Dr. James Glancey of Chesapeake City, Maryland; his daughter Kathleen Glancey and her husband Jean-Paul Louineau and their children Pascal, Noah and Emma of St Hilaire de Riez, France; and many loving cousins, nephews, and nieces. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charitable organization of your choice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday May 7th 10am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Viewing hours will be held on Sunday evening from 6 to 9pm and on Monday morning from 8:30 to 9:30am at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bordentown. Arrangements are under the direct care and supervision of Robert L. Pecht, Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, NJ 08505.
