<p>Dateline Chesterfield</p><p><br></p><p>Frank G. Torpila passed away peacefully on February 6th 2013 at his home in Chesterfield with his loving family by his side.</p><p><br></p><p>Born Braddock Pa, he was a long time resident of the Chesterfield community. </p><p>In 1943, Frank enlisted in to The United States Navy. He served in both the European and Asiatic Theaters during WWII. He was honorable discharged in 1954 as a Hospital Corpsman third class and received the Victory Medal, American Theater Medal, Asiatic Theater Medal and the European Theater Medal with 1 Star.</p><p><br></p><p>He was employed as a machine operator for the General Motors Company; retiring in 1989 after many years of dedicated service. As a proud parishioner of St. Mary’s Church of Bordentown, he served as a lector for many years. He was also a member of the Golden years luncheon club of Bordentown. But Frank’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, he was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather a great-grand father and will be missed by many.</p><p><br></p><p>The son of the late Frank and Mary Zelenak-Torpila, he is predeceased by late wife of 41 years, Ann Torpila, his brother, Nicholas Torpila and sister, Ann Guy, he is survived by his wife of 19 years, Betty Lou Rice-Torpila, his sons and daughters-in-law, Frank T. and Angela Torpila, John and Adelaide Torpila, his step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Jay C Jr. and Alison Rice, his grand children, Serena and Kurt Falzini, Vanessa and Ryan Bloor, Tamara Glidewell, Timothy and Norma Rice, Erica Rice, his great-grand children, Brie, Melanie, Kurt Jr. and his loyal companion, Daisy Mae.</p><p><br></p><p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday February 11th 11am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown. Calling hours will be held on Sunday afternoon from 4 pm to 6 pm and on Monday from 9:30am to 10:30am at the funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Hamilton. </p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s name to either The Chesterfield Rescue Squad P.O. Box 269 Chesterfield, NJ 08515 or St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, NJ, 08505.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements are under the direct care and supervision of Robert L. Frank G. Torpila passed away peacefully on February 6th 2013 at his home in Chesterfield with his loving family by his side.
