After the war, John was employed with the Brick Feed Mill located in Bordentown, retiring in 1965. He then was employed as a truck driver with Modern Equipment also located in Bordentown, retiring in 1990 after over 25 years of dedicated service.

An avid animal lover, John enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City, bird watching, fishing with his “buddies”, hunting with his family and his pets; but the greatest joy in John’s life was spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren who he shared a special bond with.
