Patti K. DeSantis Obituary

Dateline Bordentown
Patti K DeSantis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 30th 2016 at her home with her loving family at her bedside.

Born in Trenton, Patti was a life long resident of Bordentown.

Patti was employed with Ocean Spray as a Supervisor in the Distribution Department and was proud to be one of the original women forklift drivers; she retired after 29 years of dedicated service.

Patti dedicated her life to the City of Bordentown as a volunteer. She was a Past President of the Bordentown Historical Society, Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085 Ladies Auxiliary, Bordentown Red Hat Society. She was a member of the Garden Club, Green Team, Iris Festival Committee, Hobettes and a loyal member of the Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085.

Patti was a crucial part of many events in the City of Bordentown and a personal resource to many concerning the history of Bordentown. Caretaker of the Clara Barton school house, co-creator of the Ghosts Walk tours, Holiday House tours, and for the past 20 years partnered with Jackie Reed to organize and run the Bordentown Cranberry Festival. Proud to have co-authored with Arlene S. Bice the book “Bordentown, New Jersey” (Postcard History Series).

But Patti’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and will be missed by many. Lighthouse Point was her dream home and loved spending time making it a home with her love of her life and sharing it with all that she loved.

Daughter of the late John Patrick and Mary Henrietta Mahon, she was predeceased by daughter Penny Cheesman, her loving sisters, Mary Margaret (Minx) McDonough, Kathleen Delia Mahon Dobo, and brother John Patrick Mahon.

She is survived by devoted husband of 36 years Michael (Mickey); her children Heather, Bruce, and Chet Cheesman, Amber DeSantis-Mollino (Daniel). A sister Beth Mahon-Neylan and husband Bill. Her grandchildren Magdalena (Maggie) and Michael (Max) Berton.
