Dateline Bordentown City Russell V. Mich Sr. passed away peacefully on Friday August 8th 2014 at the Mercerville Genesis Elder Care Center located in Hamilton with his loving family at his bedside. Born in Trenton, his was a life long resident of the Fieldsboro~Bordentown community. Russell served in The United States Navy. He retired from Firmenich after many years of dedicated service. Russell was an avid photographer and gardener, who was well know for his prized English Show Birds and many fish tanks. A very selfless person, Russell spent many hours either volunteering for St. Marys Food Pantry or raising money for Deborah Hospital. He was a member of the Bordentown and St. Marys Senior Citizen Club, The Knights of Columbus Bordentown Counsel #570, a parishioner of St. Marys Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. But the greatest joy in Russells life was his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather; caring friend and he will be missed. Son of the late George and Blanche Mich, he is predeceased by the brothers, Raymond, Howard, George and Francis Mich, his sisters, Virgie Forman and Blanche DiPietro. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Shirley J. Mich, his loving children, Patricia A. Smith, Russell V. Jr. and (Kathy) Mich, his grandchildren, Sgt. 1st Class Robert L. (Sandy) Smith, Kelly (Nate) Longstreet, J.T. Mich, great-grandchildren, Nolan & Gavin Smith, Chelsea Deeds, Brianna & Kylie Longstreet, his sister, Violet Parker, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday August 12th 2014 11:00 am at St. Marys RC Church 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:00 ~ 10:30 am at the Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery Bordentown. Donations may be made in Russells memory to St. Mary's Church or St. Mary's Food Pantry, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown NJ 08505. Arrangements are under the direct care and supervision of Robert L.
