Victor Smarro, 59, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 15th 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Jersey City, he was a long time resident of Sayreville before moving to Robbinsville in 2001. He was employed as a Senior Supervisor for Gold Coast Freightways located in Avenel for the past 25 years. An avid Yankees and Giants fan, he had a talent for landscaping. Victor’s greatest joy in life was being a “family man”, he was a self-sacrificing person who would always be the first to “lend a hand” and never ask for anything in return. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, son and will be missed by many.
Son of the late Victor E. Smarro, he is survived by his loving wife, Jean E. Smarro, his sons and daughters-in-law, Victor Jr. and Shawna Smarro, Matthew J. Smarro, John J. and Deanna Smarro, his grandchildren, Christian Patrick and Alexa Grace Smarro, his mother, Frances Smarro, his brother, Michael Smarro, his Aunts Mae Cammerano, Barbara and her husband Joe Colarusso, his Uncle, Herbie Smarro and many nieces, nephews,cousins and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday September 20th 2012 11am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown with Rev. Michael J. Burns Officiating. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm, and on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30am at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
