Dateline Bordentown Virginia R. Jobes (Smith) passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Hamilton Continuing Care Center with her loving family by her side. Being born in Trenton, Virginia lived most of her life in Bordentown. She was a graduate of Wm. MacFarland High School and a life member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Bordentown. She moved to Ft. Myers, FL for eight years and then returned to Bordentown to be near her family. Virginia was an amazingly loving mother and wife, who took great pride in her home and raising her children; a role she most cherished. Daughter of the late Carrie (Blatchford) Bodine and William N. Smith, she was predeceased by her husband of 63 yrs., Clinton E. Jobes, mother-in-law, Sarah A. Jobes, sisters Loretta Carter, Yvonne Pavlov, son-in-law Richard H. Mathews. She is survived by three daughters Lynda Irons [Wayne], Dawn Mathews, Karen Lubbers [Jeffrey], her son Clinton W. Jobes [Gretchen], 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister Marjorie Pessolano [Tom], brothers-in-law Leroy Jobes [Janice], Charles Jobes [Loretta], and many nieces and nephews. Donations may be made in Virginia’s name to Hamilton Continuing Care Center, 1059 Edinburg Rd, Hamilton, NJ 08690-1297 or Greenwood House Hospice, 6 Colonial Lake Drive, Suite G, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. A Celebration of Virginia’s Life will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 @ 12:00 pm at the Bordentown Home for Funerals. A gathering of family and friends will be held that morning from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Bordentown Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direct care and supervision of Robert L. Pecht, Bordentown Home for Funerals 40 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, NJ 08505.
