William Ciliento

William Ciliento, 77, of Brick formerly of Brooklyn, NY passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 4, 2020 surrounded by his family. Mr. Ciliento was a bus driver for Academy Bus Service for many years until retiring. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War from 1962-1966. He was stationed on the USS Randolph and participated in the Cuban Blockade. He also was part of the rescue mission aboard the USS Randolph of Astronaut Virgil Grissom. He loved to travel and had clocked over 2 million miles throughout the United States and Canada. Bill also liked to sing Oldies Music. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Vito and Madeline Ciliento; and by his sister, Janet Widmark. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Cathy Ciliento; son, Bill Ciliento of Amityville, NY; daughters, Dawn Motl of West Sayville, NY and Barbara Ann Ciliento of Toms River; brother, Bob Ciliento of Patchogue, NY, sisters, Claudia Bowen of Shirley, NY, Carol Correiri of East Patchogue, NY, Rosie Vrtis of Ventura, CA, Charlotte Staudt of Patchouge, NY, and Laura Ducz of East Moriches, NY; 3 grandchildren, Eric Motl, Wyatt Pressler and Noah Kiczek; as well as a great granddaughter, Emory Kaye. Visiting will be on Tuesday from 5-7pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted at 7pm in the funeral home. Final interment will be private. Donations may be made in his name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
