Thomas M. Intiso, 64, of Flanders, N.J., passed away on September 18, 2019, following a brave five-year battle with cancer. Visitation will be on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at Shook’s Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove, N.J. A Catholic prayer service will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Cremation will be private at Rosedale Crematory, Montclair, N.J. Burial of ashes will be on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, N.J. Please meet at the cemetery office. Born in Montclair, N.J. to the late Charles P. and Constance Intiso, Tommy grew up in East Orange before living in Cedar Grove and eventually settling in Flanders. A great pitcher, he played one year at Clifford J. Scott High School, East Orange, N.J. He and his family then moved to Cedar Grove, and became Cedar Grove High School’s greatest pitcher of all time. He set and broke several records, and pitched a no-hitter in a state tournament game. Upon his graduation from Cedar Grove High School, he played baseball for the Verona-Cedar Grove Twins. He received a scholarship to play baseball at Valencia College, Orlando, FL and earned an associate’s degree in business. Predeceased by his parents, Charles P. and Constance Intiso, he is survived by his loving brothers, Charles P. Intiso, Jr., and his fiancée, Ginger Hood, and Vincent J. Intiso, and his wife, Elizabeth; nieces and nephews, Anthony, Melissa, Haylee, and Vincent, Jr.; and great-nephew, Silas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, cancer.org.
