Joseph Giambrone

Joseph A. Giambrone, 93, of Barnegat, NJ entered into God’s eternal rest on Monday, June 17, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Trenton, NJ, Joseph had resided in the Barnegat area for over 25 years. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy having served his country in the Pacific during World War II as a cook in the Navy. Joseph retired in 1988 after 30 years as a dedicated employee with the U.S. Postal Service as a mailman. Joseph left High School to serve his county, later receiving his honorary High School Diploma in 2001 from the NJ State Board of Education. He was a former member of the Ewing V.F.W. and the Trenton Elks B.P.O.E. Lodge 105. Flick, as he was affectionately known, loved to bowl and had been on several leagues, he also loved his NY Yankees, Frank Sinatra and fishing with his beloved grandchildren. He enjoyed walking every day and did so until he was 91. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him enjoyed his sense of humor. Son of the late Joseph and Rose (Ballone) Giambrone, brother of the late Nick Giambrone and step-sister Blanche DeFalco; father-in-law of the late Karen Giambrone and Glen Bleakley, brother-in-law of the late Martin Cseh; Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Elizabeth (Cseh) Giambrone; four loving children, Betty Ann Bleakley, Joseph Giambrone and wife Mary, James Giambrone and Diane and husband Thomas Avanzato; twelve grandchildren, Glen Bleakley Jr.(Becky), Susan and husband Andrew Schovanec, Joseph Giambrone IV, Thomas Giambrone and wife Melissa, Christopher Giambrone and wife Jill, Steven Giambrone(Ashley), Jaclyn Giambrone and fiancée Greg Griffis, James Giambrone Jr.(Joanna), Alissa Giambrone, Thomas Avanzato Jr. and wife Ashley, Gina Avanzato (Alex) and Danielle Avanzato; three great-grandchildren, Westley, T.J. and Ella; a step-sister, Jean and husband Nick Doto; two sisters-in-law, Katherine Giambrone and Shawn Cseh; a brother-in-law, William Cseh and wife Karen; his caregivers Kwamie and Peggy, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. Catholic funeral services will be held Monday, June 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Parkside Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 1584 Parkside Ave., Ewing, NJ 08638. Family and friends may call Sunday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Monday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ewing Church Cemetery, 100 Scotch Road, Ewing, NJ.
