Clare Ringwood, 94, of Freehold Township, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Brandywine Assisted Living, Howell. She was born, raised and had lived in Carteret. Clare then retired to Marshalls Creek, PA, and returned to New Jersey, settling in Freehold Township in 2005. She retired in 1986 as the head cashier for Ohrbach’s at the Woodbridge Center Mall, after 20 years of dedicated service. Clare was a former parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Carteret, where she was a member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians and the Rosary Altar Society. Along with her husband, Clare was a member at the Mountain Manor Golf Club and served as the Treasurer of the Woman’s Golf Association. She also volunteered at the Pocono Medical Center. In her spare time, she loved to knit, crochet, and travel, cruising around the world. Clare was predeceased by her husband, Jack Ringwood; a son, Thomas Ringwood; a grandson, Mark Monahan; and her brother, John “Bud” Kelly. She is survived by her sons, James K. Ringwood of Howell and Brian C. Ringwood and his wife, MaryLu of Clayton, N.C.; daughters, Kathy Koping and her husband, Richard of Freehold Township, and Patti Monahan and her husband, Joseph of Neptune; eight grandsons; and twelve great grandchildren. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 9:00 AM until the procession to the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township for her 11:15 AM Funeral Mass.
