Jan Sierzega

SIERZEGA, Jan, age 60, died on June 21, 2020 in his home in Garfield. Born and raised in Poland, he settled in Garfield 23 years ago and worked in the construction industry 20 years retiring from Eastern Concrete Materials a few years ago. He was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Union - Local 825, Springfield and enjoyed home improvement projects. Jan loved his six grandchildren - Maja, Mateusz, Sebastian, Zuzanna, Kacper, and Eliza. He was a father to Lukasz Sierzega, Izabela Bubienko, and Marcela Sierzega, a father-in-law to Elzbieta Biernacka and Gregorz Bubienko, a brother to Jozef Sierzega and Krystyna Sanowska, and to deceased siblings Bronislaw Sierzega and Kazimiera Malina. With heartache, Jan buried his son Ireneusz Sierzega in 2011 at Saint Mary's Cemetery where Jan will also find his final resting place. The funeral is Thursday, June 25, 2020, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8:30 am to 10:30 am followed by a 11 am mass at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Hackensack, and interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
