Gail I. Machemer nee Gillespie, 70, of Hamilton, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton surrounded by her loving family. Born in Manhattan, New York, Gail had resided in the Hamilton area for the past 35 years. Although she held many positions during her career they always involved caring for children, special needs children or seniors. Gail was always the first to volunteer, always willing to help a family member or friend and her laughter and smile always made you feel like home. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Daughter of the late Charles L. and Ruth C. (Serras) Gillespie; sister-in-law of the late William R. Machemer; Gail is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, John J. Machemer; her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Rick Burnett; her two beloved grandchildren: Damian and Brayden Burnett; her sister, Jane and husband Robert Scraver; and her sister-in-law, Irene Machemer; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am on Friday, July 10, 2015 at St. Gregory the Great Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Sq., NJ. Cremation will be private. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Friday morning from 8:00 am to 9:00 am at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619.
