Barbara Buchanan

Barbara Buchanan, of Keansburg, passed away on Sunday, August 20th, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. She was born in Brooklyn, lived in Jersey City, prior to moving to Keansburg in 1995. Barbara was a clerk for the US Postal Service in Jersey City. From 1980-1995 she was the committee woman for Hudson City Democratic Committee, an active member of the American Legion Post 338 in Leonardo, attended Royal Senior Care for many years till 2014. Barbara was an avid Mets and Jets fan win or loose. She enjoyed fishing, the beach, bowling, bingo, horse racing, games of chance and her lottery #'s. She loved going to the Keansburg Boardwalk and partaking in what the boardwalk had to offer including burgers at the Stadium, hot dogs and fries at the Heidelburg and pizza at Tony V's. Barbara was a very outgoing person, despite her physical disability. She loved people. Barbara is pre-deceased by her brother Robert Rosenthal and her sister Debbie "Flub" Rosenthal. She is survived by her lifelong loving and devoted dear friend; Veronica McCann of Keansburg; four brothers; Robert and Albert Jr. Buchanan and Allen and Thomas Buchanan; three sisters; Kathleen Kenney, Eileen Costner and Anna Sensibaugh; many other extended family members including the Rosenthal's and the Primont's. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Cremation will be private. On Saturday, September 9th, there will be a 12:00 pm Mass at St Ann's Church.
