Barbara A. Schnibbe, 81, of Keansburg, passed away on Monday, February 29th, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. She was born in Elizabeth, lived in Jersey City, prior to moving to Keansburg 10 years ago. Barbara was Former Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class in the US Navy; a custodial supervisor at NY Bulk & Foreign mail center in Jersey City; a 44 year member of the American Legion Post 118 in Secaucus; a charter member of Women in Military Service for America; she was very proud to have her name on the United States Memorial in Washington for women who severed their country. Surviving is her daughter Nancy Castillo of Keansburg; a son, David Swierzynski; her two twin brothers Donald Sutton and David Schnibbe; 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Family will be accepting friends on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Monday there will be an 11am service at the funeral home.
