Christopher “Red” W. Kenny Jr., 76, of Keansburg, passed away on Thursday, April 9th, at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, lived in Keansburg, prior to moving Holmdel 3 years ago. Chris was a retired Firemen Engineer for the William Alexander JR HS 51, 5th Ave and 5th St in Brooklyn. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Brooklyn, Red enjoyed playing softball for Farrells Tavern, going to the beach and fishing with his grandchildren, loved going hunting and spending time in the mountains, playing cards, cooking his famous corned ribs and his ongoing family joke, the code word is “Applejack”. Chris will always be remembered, missed and never forgotten. Christopher is predeceased by his wife; Anna Marie Kenny in 2001, his son Christopher Kenny in 2019, a brother; Patrick Kenny and his sister; Kay De Matteis. He is survived by his two sons and daughter in-law; Michael Kenny of Union Beach and Anthony and Susan Kenny of Staten Island, three daughters and sons in-law; Kathleen and Thomas Britt of Union Beach, April Kenny and Nora and Carmine Stanco both of Staten Island. Three sisters; Noreen Miley of Staten Island, Maureen Cavaretta of Toms River and Eileen Miley of Staten Island 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. His family ask that donations be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association at https://www.diabetes.org/research/research-foundation. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Cremation will be private.
