George DeVito

George J. DeVito Jr., 42, of Jackson, formerly of Keansburg, passed away on Tuesday August 25th, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was born in Newark, lived in Keansburg for 30 years, prior to moving to Jackson 3 years ago. George was a Truck driver for the Teamsters local #408, prior to that was a Sheriffs Officer for Monmouth County. He was the past Captain of the Keansburg Football Team, while in the police academy he received the Presidential Fitness award, he also was a former member of the PBA local 314, George will be remembered for his involvement with sports his whole life and his love for fishing. Surviving is his loving wife Cindy Dyas DeVito , his parents George Sr. and Leila DeVito of Jackson, his brother and sister in-law Anthony and Cindy DeVito of Jackson, his sister and brother in-law Danielle and John Catron of Jackson, mother and father in-law Robert and Cindy Dyas of Hazlet, 2 nieces Olivia DeVito and Maya Catron of Jackson, 3 nephews Joseph DeVito, and Derek and Evan Catron of Jackson and many close friends. To the best son, husband, brother, uncle, and friend, you will be greatly missed and in the hearts of your family, friends and all who have met you along the way. Family will be accepting friends on Friday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home For Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 10:15AM, St. Ann's Church, Keansburg. Private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Letters of condolences can be sent to www.jacquelinemryanfh.com
