James F. Barker, 81, of Keansburg, passed away on Thursday October 1, at home. He was born in Newark, lived in Middletown, prior to moving to Keansburg. James was a self-employed painter for the Monmouth County area, was in the Merchant Marines and the Army during WWII, was a golden glove boxer and enjoyed singing. James was pre-deceased by his parents, Joseph and Ida; 2 brothers, Buddy and Danny and a sister Catherine. Surviving are his 3 sons John Barker of Florida, Joseph Barker of Keansburg and James Barker of Pennsylvania. 1 daughter Linda Quinlan of Keansburg, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in James's honor on Monday from 7-9PM at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg.
