James J. McDonald Sr., 82, of Keansburg, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, August 6th, at home. He was born and raised in Manhattan, prior to moving to Keansburg in 1973. James worked for The New York Transit Authority as a machinist. He enjoyed golf, the movies, traveling, fishing, walking and cooking. James was pre-deceased by his loving wife Helen McDonald in 2006 and his son James McDonald in 1962. Surviving is his son; Thomas McDonald of Jackson; two daughters; Ellen Gilliard and Meave Ann McDonald both of Keansburg; three grandchildren; James, Matthew and Kerri; his great granddaughter; Liana May; and several cousins. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Cremation will be private. There will be a Mass scheduled for a later date.
