John Supple Obituary

John M. Supple, 87, of Middletown, Jack Supple passed away on April 25, 2012. Born in Brooklyn, New York. He fought WWII with his grease gun in the Caribbean as an Army airplane and engine mechanic, in the Gypsy Task Force, and later spent a year in the Pacific in Occupied Japan. He was in the NYPD and switched to the FDNY Engine 224 and Engine 2, the job and men he loved. Retiring at 46, Jack traveled the country in a converted school bus with his wife and four children, who regarded him as the smartest man in the world. A man of many activities, Jack loved storytelling, bicycling, books, pigeons, fires, barbecuing, wood chopping, lawn mower engines, thrift shops and collecting everything. He is survived by his wife Lois, children John, Tim, Kate and Joan, 5 granddaughters, 5 grandsons, 4 great grandsons, loved nephews-especially Len, Mike and Steven, adopted sons Ed and Rick, and ex-wife Mickey. Jack requested no public services. His last favorite saying was “Life is not a dress rehearsal”. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Letters of condolences can be sent to www.jacquelinemryanfh.com
