Marcella Winkler

Marcella Ann Winkler (Moms), 82, of Keansburg, passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer, on Wednesday March 19th, at Laurel Bay Nursing Home, Keansburg. She was born and raised in New York, prior to moving to Keansburg in 1967. Marcella was a bus aide for Helfrich Company, which did the route for St. Mary’s School, South Amboy. Marcella was an accomplished singer in her younger days, singing at Madison Square Garden. She was very independent and walked into her 80’s, she loved Bingo and playing cards and was a member and past president of Y.C.B.R club in Keansburg, she also was an avid bowler in her younger years Marcella was pre-deceased by her husband John J. Winkler (Winkie) in 1990; her parents Frank Brown and Margaret Lowery; 2 brothers Frank Brown Jr. and Thomas Brown; her sister Genevieve Cleary and her aunt and best friend Laura. Surviving are her 2 sons and daughters in-law John (Jay) and MaryElla Winkler of Keansburg and Frank (Winky) and Gail Winkler of Keansburg; 5 grandchildren Chris, Samantha, Kayla, Zach and Amanda; with one great grandchild on the way this August. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Services will be private. Memorial Mass will be held on April 5th at 9:15AM, St. Ann’s Church Keansburg, Entombment of ashes to follow. Letters of condolences can be sent to www.jacquelinemryanfh.com
