Michael F. Smith, 40, of Holmdel, passed away on Friday July 30th, at home. He was born in New York was a life long resident of Keansburg prior to moving to Holmdel recently. Michael worked in the mailroom for the Star Ledger, graduated Keansburg High School in 1987 but will always be remembered for his love of sports. Surviving are his parents, Ronald and Dorothy Smith of Middletown; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Vaccarelli of Middletown; and his loving companion, Christine Medvar of Middletown; his son, Michael Smith Jr. and daughter, Nicole of Middletown; 2 brothers, Ronald Smith of Middletown and Keith Smith of Holmdel; his sister, Laurene Smith of Middletown; 2 nieces and 1 nephew. Family will be accepting friends on Tuesday 3-6PM at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. There will be a religious service on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
