Richard A. “Rabbit” Woodruff Sr., 78, of Hazlet, passed away on Wednesday, September 20th, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Passaic, NJ, lived in Florida, prior to moving to Hazlet 30 years ago. Richard was a self-employed laborer, He loved cars and drag racing and enjoyed building and fixing everything. Richard was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Denise Woodruff in 2015. He is survived by five sons and daughters in-law; Kevin Woodruff of Hazlet, Keith and Tamara Woodruff of Wall, Jason and Amy Woodruff of Laurence Harbor, Rick and Eileen Woodruff of Union Beach and Woody and Denise of Cliffwood; five daughters and sons in-law; Christina Sevret of Keansburg, Kimberly and Donald Schultz of Eatontown, Tammy Woodruff and Robert of Matawan, Wendy and Daniel Rizzolo of Hazlet and Jen Weisshar of Hazlet; 24 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Family will be accepting friends on Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm for a memorial service at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg.
