Fort Coleman Brice, Jr., 73, of Lavallette, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday September 17, 2018 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. He was a lifelong resident of Lavallette, NJ. Colie served his country in the US Navy and competitively swam for them during this time. He was a Union Carpenter for Local #255 and then worked for Home Depot in Lakewood, NJ. Colie was an active parishioner of St. Junipero Serra in Seaside Park, NJ. He was a Fireman for the Lavallette Fire Dept. Station #69 and the Ocean Beach Fire Dept. Station #27. Colie was nominated into the 200 Club in 2017, which he was recognized with the Meritorious Service Award. He was an avid member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge #399 and the Lavallette Yacht Club. Colie had an incredible love for the ocean and bay, and passed this love of the salt life and sailing to his children and grandchildren. Colie is predeceased by his parents Fort Coleman Brice, Sr. and Doris (Hance) Brice, his wife Joan Brice, his son Brian Brice and his sister Collette Brice. Surviving are his children Coleman Brice and his wife Manuela of Eastport, ME, Collette Martino and her husband Aldo of New Hope, PA, Kerry Poskay and her husband Michael of Toms River, NJ, Meaghan Hughes and her husband Jason of Ortley Beach, NJ, Gail Katherine Bray and her husband Kevin of Toms River, NJ and Brendan Brice and his wife Amy of Toms River, NJ; his loving companion Liz Phillips of Lavallette, NJ; his siblings Robert “Ribby” Brice and his wife Marcia of Lavallette, NJ and Dorrie Figliozzi of NY; his 17 Grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews and friends from all walks of life. Family will receive friends on Sunday September 23, 2018 from 2-6pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 706 Grand Central Ave. Lavallette, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Monday September 24, 2018 at St. Junipero Serra RC Church in Seaside Park, NJ. Committal will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Colie’s name to the Lavallette Fire Dept. Station #69 at 125 Washington Ave. Lavallette, NJ 08735.
